Pet Boarding

Boarding is available at PVAH. Your dog will be taken out three times a day in our outdoor runs. Every time you pet goes out, their kennel is cleaned and fresh water is given. The cats are not let out but do get plenty of attention. There is plenty of action going on all day in the kennel so your pet won't be bored! We also visit them lots! Feel free to bring beds, toys, food, favorite treats or anything else that will make your pet comfortable here.

Microchipping

Thousands of pets become lost every day, and microchip identification is the one reliable way to reunite these lost pets with their owners. The procedure is safe, easy, inexpensive, and practically painless. The microchip itself is about the size of a grain of rice. It contains a tiny metallic bar code surrounded by an inert membrane which makes it non-reactive when it is placed under the skin. The microchip is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades with a hypodermic-type syringe. Although the needle itself is larger than those used for vaccinations, most pets don't seem to notice any more than any other injection. Once the chip is in place, it should be there for the life of the pet, and we will register your microchip to ensure your contact information is associated with the bar code number.

On-Site Ultrasound

For the pet owner, ultrasound provides a non-invasive and pain free way to diagnose many problems with your beloved pet. We may suggest an ultrasound when blood work, x-rays, and other tests do not give a definitive answer for your pet. Just a few of the diseases and conditions we can help to diagnose include age-related heart disease, congenital heart disease, thoracic tumors, abdominal tumors, gastrointestinal disease, liver disease, gall bladder disease, kidney disease, adrenal gland disease, stones in the urinary bladder and kidneys, and pregnancy.
